The new Atrium, originally built in 1972, is part of the famous Zuidasdok project. The remarkable property has been renovated to a multifunctional business center, where many international companies have found lodging. The old building is being surrounded by two newly built towers. All five towers are interconnected and two new atria cover the space in between.

The huge glass walls and smooth lines let the Atrium melt together with its surroundings. The use of robust materials has been a very conscious choice, whereas sustainability played a key part in the designing phase. Additionally, this is what gives the Atrium its unique and chic appearance.

Late 2017, the well-known lawyer firm Hogan Lovells entered the three top floors of the atrium. As an internationally respected company, the Atrium was a very logical decision for Hogan Lovells. The new offices are designed in such a way, that it stimulates cooperation, but also it also reaches the highest level of hospitality and sustainability. Besides, this is the best location on the South Axis.

With the soon to be opened Zuidasdok, not only will the South Axis be even more easy to reach, but it will also be a lot more sustainable as it used to be. The A10 South will be expanded from four to six driving lanes, and it will even disappear underground when reaching the heart of the South Axis. Both air pollution and noise control will be addressed with this solution. Through traffic and termination traffic will be separated and the Nieuwe Meer and Amstel junctions will also be adjusted.

The Amsterdam South train station will undergo a complete renovation. As the new high-end public transportation terminal, this will be the centralization point for trains, trams, buses, trams and taxis. Furthermore, the area will get a ‘green make-over’. There will be a few squares around the stations, as well as hiking and biking trails. The tunnel roof will be covered with green. The underground road will reach a length of approximately one kilometer.
